- "Keys to Paradise" is the essential guide for visitors to Key West! Written by long-time Key West resident Phyllis "Momma" May, this is neither an advertisement for local businesses ("I have not, and will never, accept any money to include any business.") nor some dry, bland description that reads like an encyclopedia. (For instance, what other tourist guide will tell you about the Sheriff’s Animal Farm? "It takes animals that are abandoned, abused, confiscated or donated. It is funded by canteen profits from jail inmates and donations. Some of the inmates also help care for the animals. It’s open from 1-3 on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month." How can you visit Key West and not see their emu, sloth, and miniature horses?)
"Momma" May's wit runs rampant throughout the guide, but she's never malicious. "You won’t find anything negative
in this book about a specific place. If I haven’t had a positive experience, I’ve simply omitted it...." There can't be many places in Key West that May doesn't like because she lists hundreds of restaurants, bars, pubs, parks, photo spots, activities, homes, museums, galleries, theaters, places to shop, places to relax, and things to do on the water, in the water, and beside the water. Your only problem will be finding the time to follow all her suggestions.
In short, if you're planning a vacation to Key West, or even if you're just dreaming about visiting the Southernmost City in the U.S., you need this guide. - I loved the conversational style of writing and the book was packed with useful information.

You get the advantage of advice from someone who’s been there and done that for over 20 years, and knows all the folks who are “in the knowâ€.
